With a local guide, you’ll dive into the ancient Fes medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site, exploring landmarks like the historic Quarraouine Mosque, El-Attarine Madrasa, and the famous tanneries. We’ll also visit the Royal Palace gate and the Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts & Crafts before you settle into your riad for the night.
Leaving Fes behind, we travel south towards the mountains. Our journey includes a stop in Ifrane, known as Morocco’s “Little Switzerland,” and a walk through the Azrou cedar forests, home to communities of Barbary apes. The scenic drive takes you past lush forests and traditional Berber villages, offering a glimpse into rural Moroccan life before we arrive in the mountain town of Midelt for the night.
Today, the landscape transforms dramatically as we make our way to the Sahara. We’ll travel through the spectacular Ziz Valley, a vast oasis of dense palm groves that cuts through the arid terrain. Passing through Erfoud, the gateway to the desert, you’ll see the first golden dunes rise in the distance as we arrive in Merzouga. Here, you will settle into your hotel at the edge of the dunes and rest before tomorrow’s desert exploration.

Our final day begins with a tour of Ouarzazate, including the historic Taourirt Kasbah and the famous Atlas Film Studios. The adventure culminates with a stunning drive over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. We will descend into the plains and arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, where your incredible journey concludes.
