Welcome to Morocco! Your journey begins in the historic city of Fes. Upon arrival at Fes-Saïss Airport (FEZ), your private guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel or riad to settle in and enjoy dinner.
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital, with an expert local guide. You will step back in time as you wander the labyrinthine alleys of the Fes el-Bali medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include the famous Chouara Tanneries, the Al-Qarawiyyin University (the world’s oldest), and the Mausoleum of the city’s founder, Moulay Idriss II. After a traditional lunch in the medina, you’ll visit the Nejjarine Fountain and the Batha Museum. The day concludes with a stunning panoramic view over the ancient city.
Departing Fes, we journey through the heart of Morocco’s history. Our first stop is the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a remarkably preserved archaeological site. Next, we explore the imperial city of Meknes, admiring the monumental Bab el-Mansour gate. After lunch, we continue our drive through rolling hills and farmlands to Rabat, Morocco’s modern capital. We’ll end the day with a view of the Atlantic from the Oudayas Kasbah before checking into our hotel.
After breakfast in Rabat, we will briefly explore the city’s key landmarks, including the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. We then journey down the coast to Casablanca, Morocco’s bustling economic hub. Here, we’ll visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Following our visit, we continue south, arriving in the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakech in the evening.
Immerse yourself in the magic of Marrakech with a full-day guided tour. You’ll discover the city’s most famous landmarks, including the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, the serene Majorelle Garden, and the opulent Bahia Palace. After an optional lunch in the medina, you will explore the city’s colorful, bustling souks. As evening approaches, you’ll experience the electric atmosphere of the Djemaa el-Fna square from a panoramic rooftop terrace before enjoying dinner.
Today, we trade the city’s energy for the refreshing Atlantic breeze as we travel to the charming coastal town of Essaouira. Known as the “Wind City,” this UNESCO-listed port is a haven for artists and surfers. You’ll have the day to explore its historic ramparts (the Skala de la Ville), wander through the blue-and-white medina, and see the bustling fishing harbor where you can enjoy a fresh seafood lunch.
Enjoy a final leisurely morning in Essaouira, perhaps walking along the beach or browsing the local art galleries. In the afternoon, we will travel back to Marrakech. Your final evening is free for last-minute souvenir shopping in the souks, enjoying a traditional horse-drawn calèche ride, or indulging in a relaxing Hammam spa experience before a farewell dinner.
Day 8: Departure from Marrakech
After a final Moroccan breakfast, your tour concludes. We will provide a timely transfer to Marrakech-Menara Airport (RAK) for your departure flight.
